My Bucket List-- Updated

I've been thinking lately about what I want to do with my life after graduation. Now I know it is still about 10 months away, but I know it is going to come faster than I can imagine. And it got me thinking about my old bucket list. So I pulled it out from 2008 to see how far I've come.

Original Post (and updated with annotations)
So I saw the movie "Bucket List" today and it made me think about things that I want to do in my life before I too "kick the bucket." I might add onto this later and cross things off as they happen, but I at least wanted them to be listed somewhere.

1. Make a difference in someone's life
Ironically enough, someone dear to me informed me I could cross this off my list the day I posted it. I'm glad I can make a difference, no matter how small.

2. Visit every Latin American country and have one picture that reminds me of where I've been
Honduras, Guatemala, Argentina, and this winter Costa Rica. I'm on my way!!

3. Be impulsive
I would like to say I am a fairly impulsive person in general. I think I meant I wanted to be impulsive about something big. Which has yet to happen.

4. Take a road trip
Summer 2011  with Amy, my sister, and my brother-in-law. It was wonderful and I am super glad I did it. :o

5. See a flamenco in Spain

6. See a bullfight in Pamplona

7. Learn Spanish, French, Italian, AND Portuguese
2 down, 2 to go!

8. Dance a tango in Argentina
Summer 2008. I took classes and danced the night away on the streets of Cordoba.

9. Marry someone with the same goals as me

10. Learn to live for myself a little

11. Kiss someone in the rain
Done. In the rain and the snow. :D

12. Stand in a meadow in Ireland

13. Be in 5 theatrical shows
Rocky Horror, The Real Inspector Hound, An Actor's Nightmare, Evita, The Women, White Christmas.

14. Join Amnesty International

15. Be a mom
Not yet, but I am a proud pet parent.

To be added to the list:
16. Visit Washington D.C.
17. Buy a home.
18. Grow old with the love of my life.
19. Overcome my fear of heights.
20. Dance in the rain.
21. Get the lead in a show.
22. Get out of debt.

Adventures in Cooking

So this morning I started my crockpot up and put in some frozen chicken tenderloin (I apparently bought the tenderloin instead of breasts) and about a half a bottle of Italian dressing. Top it off with a little bit of water and voila! Easy dinner! This was my first time trying this, since normally I marinate the chicken and bake it. This is much nicer in the summer; especially since I do not have a grill. I cooked the chicken on low for about  10 hours. I honestly would have only cooked it for 6, but our power went out. I wanted to make sure that the chicken was fully cooked before eating it. Fast forward to about 9:30 tonight when I got home, and the chicken was fall off the fork tender. YUMYUMYUM SO GOOD. Since it was 9:30, I did not want to make a whole meal so I whipped up some bag potatoes (seen below). These are AWESOME and you can buy them at the WalMart for like 98 cents. They are perfect when you do not really have time to peel, boil, and mash your own potatoes.

POTATO-EY GREATNESS

AAAAANNNND DINNER!

The plate looks super puny but that is because this was mostly a snacky dinner. I really wanted to make green beans, but laziness and the long day prevailed. The amount of chicken I made would feed four, but I would suggest making a double batch of the potatoes if you are planning on having that many people as people are always willing to eat more potatoes. :D

Total cost for the meal: $5.00 for chicken, $1.50 for dressing (generic), $0.98 for potatoes, and if you buy frozen green beans (which is what we had in the house since WalMart was out of fresh) for $0.98. Less than $10 total for a meal for four. And it was super yummy as well.

¡Buen provecho!

Happy Birthday to Me!

So I was out and about with my roomie Sam today and we managed to make our way to Target. Every time I go to Target, I have to look at the shoes. EVERY TIME. It is kind of awful actually. ANYWAY, the shoes that I love to try on but can never buy happened to be fifty percent off. FIFTY. I was super excited and put them on again today. Of course, you cannot buy new shoes without trying on a cute outfit that would go perfectly with it.

So Sam convinces me to try on this outfit. I'm in love. I decided to go ahead and buy it for myself for my birthday, since it is on Thursday and of course I need a new outfit for my birthday. Woot! Below is my super cute new outfit! And yes, now I finally have leopard print pumps.

On another note, I apologize for being so lax in my posts. I made a kick ass pot roast a couple of weeks ago and forgot to take a picture so you all can just wait until I make it again to enjoy it. I am; however, going to try another crock pot recipe for chicken tomorrow so you will all get to see how it turns out!

Until then...
